fecc81ile_heroThis weekend sees a first for our club, as our current u14s become the first team from Portarlington GAA to represent Laois at Féile na nÓg . This years competition will be held in Connacht with Port being hosted by Galway City club St. Michael’s.

Port are playing in Group A of Division 2 along with Galways Ballinasloe & St Michael’s with Donegal’s Four Master’s making up the group.

Our first two fixtures wil be played Friday 28th in Ballinasloe GAA Grounds against Ballinasloe @ 5:30 pm and Four Masters @ 7:00 pm

Saturday morning sees us take on hosts St Michael’s @ 10:45 am, Results will then determine our remaining fixtures.

To celebrate the boys achievement the club held a special presentation evening where the players were presented with the jerseys they will wear over the weekend from our Laois Senior players, with a special guest appearance by Club and Laois legend Hugh Emerson.

A special word of thanks to the following who have made this trip and presentation night possible. To the boy’s families for their support in fundraising for the team, Mentors Dermot, Damien, Mick and John for their hard work in preparing the team. Our Juvenile Committee for organising our two major fundraisers for the trip and Jennie Emerson for organising the Jersey Presentation Night.

Last but not least a huge thanks to our sponsors and supporters who contributed sponsorship and spot prizes to our fundraising events and to the trip itself, your help and contributions are hugely appreciated by the club and will help make the weekend a memorable one for the team.
